What is Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation? (SFDR)

Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) is designed to make it easier for investors to distinguish and compare between the many strategies that are now available, and by extension, to support the move to sustainable investing.

This Regulation lays down harmonised rules for financial market participants and financial advisers on transparency with regard to the integration of sustainability risks and the consideration of adverse sustainability impacts in their processes and the provision of sustainability‐related information with respect to financial products.

Disclosure requirements apply under article 8 to products that promote also Environmental or Social Characteristics, whereas disclosure requirements apply under article 9 to products that have sustainable investments as their objective.
